We wanted R2-D2 in the kitchen, not just on the shelf. So we built him the old way: cast in porcelain and hand-painted using ceramic techniques we've drawn from 1970s studio practice, the same methods behind the collectible ceramics we grew up admiring. Every detail is applied by hand — the glossy photoreceptor, the blue-and-white paneling, the panel lines and scuffs that make him feel lived-in rather than printed. His domed head lifts free as the lid, so there's real storage underneath, not just display. We designed him to hold your cookies as readily as he holds the room.
